Pack layers, together with a water-resistant and windproof outer shell, insulated mid-layers, and moisture-wicking base layers. Do not forget heat socks, a hat, gloves or mittens, and a neck gaiter. Solar safety, together with sunscreen and sun shades or goggles, can be important.
